Your digital privacy is the foundational reason neverpost exists. The app is built so that your thoughts, images, and documents stay under your control. We do not want your personal data, we do not collect it, and our systems are physically incapable of reading it.
1. Your data never leaves your device
No database servers. Unlike traditional social platforms, neverpost has no remote cloud database.
Native storage isolation. Every word you type and file you attach is processed inside your browser and written directly to your device's local storage sandbox using the browser's IndexedDB API.
Zero accounts. There are no usernames, passwords, or email sign-ups. Your physical device is your account.
2. Multi-media & attachment security
Local processing. When you attach a photo or document, it is never uploaded to an external web host.
On-device compression. Photos are downsampled inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas engine, then saved directly to your device.
Portable backups. The Export Archive utility packages a .zip file directly on your device. We never see, copy, or store a backup of your history.
3. Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4)
To guide our roadmap for a future native app, we log basic feature usage via Google Analytics 4. We do not collect personally identifiable information.
What we track (anonymous event counters):
When an entry is successfully written.
The count of attached files (e.g. one file) — never the filename or contents.
When a backup archive is exported or imported.
What we explicitly do not track:
No text — we never see, log, or transmit the content of your posts.
No file contents — we cannot see your images, documents, or filenames.
Masked telemetry — IP anonymization is permanently forced on. Cross-device tracking and ad-personalization signals are disabled.
4. Total custody & erasing your history
Because your data is strictly localized, you hold the keys:
To move your data, use Export Archive to download your history. You can load that same file into neverpost on any other device instantly.
To permanently erase it, use "Erase everything on this device" in Settings, or clear your browser's site data for neverpost.app. Either instantly and irreversibly clears your timeline.
We can't see, and thus can never recover your data if you erase it or lose your device--and neither can you unless you create a backup.
